How does GunNabber work?
Retailers provide GunNabber with a product list through either a Data Feed or by managing their product listing via our Retailer API.
Data Feeds are XML or JSON files or website endpoints that contain product information. A retailer will host this data feed on their own website, and GunNabber will periodically check these feeds for updates and changes.
Retailers can also manage their product listings through our Retailer API, which allows them to add, update, and remove products in real-time. Generally, consuming an API requires software developers to build a computer to computer integration between the retailer and GunNabber.
Consumers use GunNabber to search for products and set up notifications. Notifications are designed to immediately alert consumers when a product they are interested in becomes available. This is helpful to consumers especially for high-demand products that are often out of stock.
Due to the nature of the product, GunNabber does not handle any transactions. GunNabber is a search engine, notification service, and product listing service. All transactions are handled by the retailer's website.
How to Get Started
For Consumers
If you are a consumer, you can always search for free without an account. However, to set up saved searches you will need a free account, or if you want to notifications, you will need to subscribe to an Individual Premium account.
Select the "Sign Up" link in the top right corner of the page to create an account. You will be asked to provide your name, email address, phone number and a password. Additionally, if you choose a GunNabber Individual Premium subscription you'll enter your payment details on the payment form. Once you have created an account, you can log in and immediately access your new features.
For Retailers
If you are a retailer, you will need to subscribe to either a Retailer Standard or Retailer Premium account depending on the level of features you want.
In general, if you want to include advertising with your subscription, or you want more click-throughs you'll need a Retailer Premium subscription.
Select the "Sign Up" link in the top right corner of the page to create an account. You will be asked to provide your name, email address, company name, website, and a phone number. Next, you'll enter your payment details on the payment form and specify a password. Once you have created an account, you can log in and immediately access your new features.
To get the most out of you subscription, we suggest doing the following:
- Set up your Retailer Profile
- Complete the Shipping Survey - this provides a grade that is included in search results.
- Set up your Data Feed if you are using one.
- Add Advertisements if your subscription includes them.
Setting up Data Feeds
If you are a retailer, you will need to set up a data feed. We can accept a data feed in our GunNabber specific format, or if you already have a data feed with another product listing service, we can likely consume it.
